Ariadna is the Spanish version of the greek Ariadne - the woman in Greek mythology that gave Theseus the sword and a ball of red fleece thread so he could kill the Minotaur and find his way out again from the labyrinth. The headgear probably reflects the thread ball. Otherwise there is not much female attire in the sculpture, and the place under the trees adds somewhat to the gloomy atmosphere.
