Eden Project

The Eden Project is a botanical garden that has been placed in a former china clay pit near St. Austell. The site is dominated by the two giant greenhouses, which consist of four adjoining domes each. They are known as biodomes, in short biomes.

The domes are built from hexagons and pentagons, and exactly like a classical football the hexagons make the size and the pentagons the bending. According to the Swiss mathematician Euler you need exactly 12 pentagons to complete the sphere, i.e. six for a hemissphere. You can entertain yourself by looking for the pentagons.
