In recent years the house got known in Germany for two films with Keira Knightly - one is "Pride and Prejudice", where the filming confirmed the conviction of many fans of the Jane Austen classic that the author had of course Chatsworth in mind with Pemberly, and the other is "The Duchess", the true story of the wife of the fifth Duke of Devonshire.
