Finally there is the so-called table fountain (Tafelbrunnen) which lies out of the town near the water works south, halfway between Berghausen and Speyer. In former times this was a popular destination for an outing, today is stands forlorn on the wayside. It is an open building with a roof, and the water (if it is switched on at all) comes out of three metal pipes and flows into a basin in a hollow with steps to go down.
The isolated location and the layout makes this an ideal meeting place for the youth, which can also be seen at the graffity there.
