If you come from the cathedral over the Sonnenbruecke into the Altstadt you head directly towards the St. Magdalena convent, which exists since 1232 and is a Dominican convent since 1304. The most famous nun was Edith Stein, who because of her jewish descent was later deported to Auschwitz and killed. There is a plaque at the entrance to remember her.
