At Easter time the Spring Fair is held on the Festplatz, it is the first of three Fun Fairs there.
In previous years the fairs was held continious over the holidays, but by order of an authority in Trier the fair was banned on Good Friday, which led to lots of discussions. The vendours are not very happy about it. Therefore in 2016 the start was shifted to Easter Saturday to avoid the Good Friday ban.
